EXTRACTION CLEANING

Extraction cleaning is a restorative method of carpet cleaning. It is designed for removal of deep imbedded soils. However it can also be used as an interim surface cleaning method by adjust the speed of the machine and the flow of the cleaning solution. Extraction cleaning may be done with hoses and wands or with the more productive walk behind extractors. Total effectiveness depends on how much of the water is recovered from the carpet. Ideally you should recover at least 75% of the water. The extraction method forces a pressurized spray of hot water and cleaning material into the carpet and then extracts the dirty solution and most of the water in one motion. Additional water can be removed by passing over the area a second time with the spray off and the vacuum on.

  5. Prepare Prespray solution and spray the area to be cleaned. Follow mixing directions on the product label.
  6. Place the Prespray solution into a pump up sprayer and spray the area as required.

  13. Use fans to speed up drying.
  14. When dry, vacuum area thoroughly.
  15. Put away equipment and supplies. Clean or wipe down equipment and return it to storage.
